Fine 17th, 18th, and 19th Century Antiques

Greetings,
Sunshine and clear skies here with a "brisk" ( we don't call this cold ) 30 degrees. This might be just the time to get  the house ready for that upcoming Valentine's Day party you planned. Here are some intriguing things to consider.
Period upholstered pieces are among our specialties. This English wing chair has walnut primary wood which would  indicate an early 18th century chair, mahogany being the later choice. Wing chairs are most inviting for your guests. The legs, in old finish, have very strong cabriole form terminating in pad feet. Turned stretchers join the legs. The brown leather is a recent recover and a choice that will last decades if properly cared for, gaining character with age. It is both durable and appropriate for the age of the chair. W. 32",d. 32", h. 44".
The George III armchair, circa 1760+ was just covered in period appropriate silk on mahogany legs. Call it a lolling chair , library chair, or easy chair, all are correct period terms. W. 27", d.27", h. 37".
The Georgian mahogany commode, circa 1800,  has a so-called "butler's tray " top with lift handles and a tambour door at front. Perfect size as an end table and with a great polish and depth of color. W. 19", d. 17.5", h. 29".  $1095.
The French style brass classical lamp is a fine old copy with a painted tole shade. Just rewired with a cloth cord and ready to light your rooms. W. 12", d. 8.5", h. 24". $395.
Three bronzes, all mounted on marble bases are charming pieces for your Federal or George III mantle. Of the 19th century and with good detail, these were bought by us in "attic find" condition with minor losses to the marbles. The three, as found, in delicious degradation. Displaying these as they are will be a measure of your self confidence. H. 7.5". , $650.
A fine Sarouk carpet is shown, circa 1910. This sophisticated design with a deep rose ground has a very fine weave ( some wear).  52" X 79".
The Italian capricio is 17th or 18th century Italian in a later antique frame. H. 36" , w. 56"  overall. Please call for details.
