This charming early "Queen Anne" wing chair is English and has walnut as its primary wood. The chair was made in the early to mid 1700's and restored at times over the years. Our upholsterer of many years has removed various webbings and springs of later centuries and reglued the frame to a sturdy state. It is now freshly covered in an appropriate Christian Liaigre gold and gray silk damask. Please know that this fabric is of the finest quality and beautifully changes in the light as the day passes from smokey greys to golds.
The chair has a bold stance with a shaped crest above serpentine wings over scrolled arms with vertically scrolled supports. The cushion is now filled with fresh down and feathers. Below, strong lappet carved cabriole legs rest on slipper feet. These are joined by block and turned stretchers to well braced rear legs. Now ready for your immediate enjoyment.
Height 50", width at extreme of arms 33",seat height at crown 20+", leg height 11 1/2".
