IMPORTANT! Gifts of Grace Dinner Information; Next Meeting - February 21

The Sierra Lutheran High School Gifts of Grace Dinner-Auction Committee asks for your prayerful considertion in supporting the Gifts of Grace Dinner-Auction on Saturday, March 3, at the Genoa Lakes Country Club.

 

SLHS families and friends of the school are enthusiastically encouraged to attend and/or support the event through the donation of an auction item - or through the purchase of Dollar$ for Scholar$ drawing tickets. The individual ticket price for the event is $50; the price per couple is $90. Gold and Silver table sponsorships, which come with varying amenities for groups of 10, are available for $850 and $650, respectively.

 

The Dollar$ for Scholar$ drawing features three outstanding gifts, including an iPad2, a $500 gas card, and a $500 restaurant/dining spree. Tickets are $5.00 for 1 ticket, 4 for $20, 10 for $40, and 20 for $60.

 

Don't wait to register, as seating is limited. If you did not receive your invitation, please call Mr. Underwood at 267-1921 to register over the phone.  Reservations are requested by February 17.

 

The next organizing meeting will be next Tuesday, February 21, at 6:00 p.m. Please join us; PIP hours given!

 

NEW!  SLHS to Launch Cheerleading Program Next Year; Info. Mtg on Feb 28 

Sierra Lutheran High School is pleased to announce that it will be launching a cheerleading program, beginning next fall. An information meeting for current SLHS students and parent, incoming stuents and parents, and prospective families interested in learning more about this exciting opportunity will take place on Tuesday, February 28 at 7:00 p.m. 

 

REMINDER: Drop-off for SLHS Rummage Sale This Saturday from 10-4

The SLHS Track & Field program and the SLHS Boosters will be hosting the Second Annual SLHS Rummage Sale & Vendor Fair on Saturday, February 25 from 7:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. in the gymnasium.

 

To help support these groups and their organizing efforts, you may drop off small items the Saturday before, February 18, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., or on Thursday, February 23, from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.

 

Alternatively, if you have a large item that you are unable to transport, please e-mail Robin Williams at bukamom@sbcglobal.netto discuss a pick-up.

Vendors who are interested in selling non-consumable items may purchase a 10 x 10 space for $25.00. Registration forms may be obtained by e-mailing Anne Johnson at annej@gbis.com.

Applications for Financial Assistance Due by Wednesday, February 29

Returning and incoming families requesting financial assistance for the 2012-13 school year must complete the online financial aid application through FACTS by Wednesday, February 29. SLHS College Scholarship Bulletin 

In an effort to connect Falcon families to as many funding sources as possible to defray the cost of a college education, SLHS has established a college scholarship bulletin. This piece has been established as a listing of private scholarships that have been sent to SLHS for dissemination. The bulletin will be e-mailed out each time a new scholarship becomes available.

 

 

Carson Rotary Club Announces Speech Competition on March 27

The Carson City Rotary Club has invited Sierra Lutheran High School to submit entries for its annual speech competition, which will be held on March 27. SLHS has been awarded two places in this year's competition. For more information, please see Dr. Seddon.

SLHS Open House for Prospective Families - 3/8/12

 

Sierra Lutheran High School will host a special Information Night for prospective families on Thursday, March 8, at 6:30 p.m. Application materials for the 2012-13 school year may be obtained through the SLHS website.

 

The program will begin with a brief plenary session about the school before giving way to a tour of the campus and the opportunity to meet the school's faculty and staff. To reserve a packet, RSVP to underwood@slhs.com.
