Second Annual SLHS Rummage Sale & Vendor Fair Set for Sat., February 25
The SLHS Track & Field program and the SLHS Boosters will be hosting the Second Annual SLHS Rummage Sale & Vendor Fair on Saturday, February 25 from 7:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. in the gymnasium.
To help support these groups and their organizing efforts, you may drop off small items the Saturday before, February 18, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., or on Thursday, February 23, from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Alternatively, if you have a large item that you are unable to transport, please e-mail Robin Williams at bukamom@sbcglobal.net to discuss a pick-up.
Vendors who are interested in selling non-consumable items may purchase a 10 x 10 space for $25.00. Registration forms may be obtained by e-mailing Anne Johnson at annej@gbis.com.

Registration For The Northern California College Tour & National College Fair Visit Due by February 15
SLHS is pleased to announce the chance for sophomores, juniors, and interested seniors to sign-up for a school-sponsored tour of various colleges and universities in Northern California that also includes a trip to the NACAC National College Fair in San Francisco.
The trip, which will be chaperoned by Mr. Underwood and Dr. Seddon, will run from April 19-21. It will include visits to UC Davis, St. Mary's College, Stanford University, and San Francisco State University prior to attending the national college fair on Saturday, April 21.
The NACAC national college fair will include admissions representatives from several hundred schools from around the country.
The cost of the trip will be roughly $250 p/student, plus food, based on eight students registering. (An incremental cost increase would apply for fewer registrants.) If you are interested in having your student participate, please contact Mr. Underwood by February 15.
SLHS College Scholarship Bulletin Now Available; Click Below to Review
In an effort to connect Falcon families to as many funding sources as possible to defray the cost of a college education, SLHS has established a college scholarship bulletin. This piece has been established as a listing of private scholarships that have been sent to SLHS for dissemination. The bulletin will be e-mailed out each time a new scholarship becomes available.

Take a Shot at Winning FREE Books for the 2012-13 School Year During Halftime of the Home Basketball Games on 2/11
SLHS families will have the unique opportunity of winning free books for the 2012-13 school year by taking part in the "Falcon Fling," which is set for halftime of the home basketball game on February 11. Parents of returning or incoming SLHS students may purchase tickets the night of the event for the chance to make a half-court shot that will result in no book fee for the 2012-13 school year, a value of $425. Tickets cost $10 a try, so start practicing now to win big on February 11!
Two Host Families Needed From February 7-14 For Touring Intl. Students
Sierra Lutheran seeks prayerful consideration from its various constituencies to help facilitate housing for some visiting high school students from Denmark. SLHS is joining Grace Community Church in an effort to identify two families who would be willing to house two boys each from February 7-14.
These students are part of a group of 23 students visiting from Frydensberg High School. This group will be visiting various schools while in the area, including Sierra Lutheran on February 8. In addition to housing, the boys would also need breakfast and dinner provided.

Auction Items Needed For the Gifts of Grace Dinner-Auction
The school's dinner-auction committee is seeking auction items for the Gifts of Grace Dinner-Auction on March 3. Large or small, all auction items help make a difference in helping raise valuable resources for the school's Tuition Assistance Program.
The committee requests that all auction items please be brought to school by February 10. If you have questions about the auction or are unsure of how to support it, please call the front office and leave a message for Auction Chair Renee Winans.
