Open House For Prospective Transfers & 2012-13 New Students - November 3

Sierra Lutheran High School will host a comprehensive Open House for prospective mid-year transfers and for all prospective students for the 2012-13 academic year on Thursday, November 3, from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. This event will provide attendees the opportunity to meet the SLHS faculty, as well as current students and parents. Additionally, the program will provide information about the school's acclaimed academic and college planning curriculum, its extracurricular offerings, and its Christian formation program.

Get Your Christmas Shopping Jump Started With Operation Christmas Child

The Sierra Lutheran student body strongly urges members of the SLHS community, as well as the community at-large, to support the school's Operation Christmas Child campaign. This benevolent giving opportunity, organized through Samaritan's Purse, www.samaritanspurse.org/occ, offers individuals the chance to provide Christmas gifts for underprivileged children around the world.

 

Beginning November 1, SLHS will serve as a collection center for donations made for boys and girls ranging anywhere from 2-14 years of age. Gifts do not have to be wrapped; however, it is requested that a tag be affixed stating if the gift is for a boy or girl in the following age ranges: 2-4, 5-9, 10-14 years old. Gift suggestions include school supplies, toys, hygiene items, and other miscellaneous items such as t-shirts, socks, ball caps, sunglasses, hair clips, toy jewelry, watches, and flashlights (with extra batteries.)

Falcon Sports Teams Headed to Post-Season Competition, Starting Tomorrow

The boys' and girls' cross country teams start post-season competition tomorrow with the State Regionals at Rancho San Rafael in Reno. The Girls 2A race begins at 10:00 a.m. The Boys 2A race starts at 12:35.  The State Meet will take place at Rancho San Rafael Park next Saturday, November 5. The race times will be the same.

 

The girls' volleyball team has secured the second seed in next week's Regional Tournament. The Lady Falcons will play a yet-to-be-determined opponent next Friday, November 4, at 4:40 p.m. at Wooster High School...SLHS students interested in taking a Spirit Bus to the game must contact the front office by Monday.

 

Commencement Exercises For the Class of 2012 Set For SLHS Gymnasium

After years of praying for a sufficient on-campus facility, Sierra Lutheran is pleased to announce that the Class of 2012 will enjoy the school's first on-campus graduation ceremony next year. Commencement will take place on Friday, May 25, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. in the school's brand new gym. In keeping with tradition, parents of the junior class will host the reception that follows.  More information about this landmark occasion will follow in the coming weeks and months.

 

SLHS Dinner-Auction Committee Seeks Live & Silent Auction Item Donations
The Sierra Lutheran Gifts of Grace Dinner-Auction Committee is now accepting live and silent auction items for the upcoming gala, which is set for Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the Genoa Lakes Country Club. Help support the school's student assistance program by donating or soliciting a live or silent auction item. Donations are tax deductible. Sign-ups Underway to Form SLHS Pep Band; See Mr. Harrison For Details

Sierra Lutheran's Mr. Harrison is taking sign-ups for those interested in playing in the school's inaugural pep band, which is scheduled to play at selected home basketball games. SLHS Opens 2012-13 Admissions Window

 

Sierra Lutheran High School has opened its admissions window for the 2012-13 school year and encourages prospective families and applicants to click here to begin the process today to become part of the Falcon Family in 2012-13. Applicants who have completed each step in the admissions by the Early Decision deadline of December 15 will have their $175 enrollment fee applied to the first month's tuition!
