Sierra Lutheran - Blue Go Partnership Begins October 3
The official start date for the highly-anticipated partnership between Sierra Lutheran High School and the Blue Go transit service is set for Monday, October 3, with routes servicing three areas within SLHS's catchment area.
The route times and destinations reflect the opportunity for students to be dropped off in the morning at 7:49 a.m. (Carson City and South Lake Tahoe passengers) and 7:55 a.m. (Minden-Gardnerville passengers).
Return trips for passengers from Minden-Gardnerville leave at 3:32 p.m. and 5:17 p.m. Afternoon departures for Carson City and South Lake Tahoe passengers leave at 3:55 p.m. and 6:05 p.m.
The northbound route, which will begin at the Blue Go stop in the Ranchos, will see the bus travel up Tillman and Centerville to Waterloo before stopping at Lampe Park. It will then proceed north on Highway 395 through Minden with stops in front of the medical center, Smith's, and the Carson Valley Inn before continuing north on 395 to SLHS.
Southbound passengers headed to SLHS will pick-up service at the Jump Around Carson (JAC) Center at Washington and Plaza. The route will head south on Stewart with a brief stop at Carson Valley Plaza and Fuji Park before arriving at SLHS.
Passengers travelling from South Lake Tahoe in the morning will depart from the Blue Go terminal at Stateline at 6:30 a.m. and arrive at SLHS at 7:55 a.m. Return trips to South Lake Tahoe will be routed back through the JAC Center at Washington and Plaza, departing SLHS at either 3:55 or 6:05 p.m. and arriving back at Stateline at either 5:15 or 7:48 p.m.
Families/students may pay for this service
on a daily, monthly, or as-needed (e.g. last minute) basis. Students travelling to or from Carson City will only pay $1.00 each way. Those travelling to/from the Minden-Gardnerville area, or to/from South Lake Tahoe, will pay just $2 each way. A transfer from either JAC or DART will be treated as $1 credit when boarding the new route.
