FROM THE CHAIRMAN

Dave Cox

Hi folks, and welcome to another edition of our newsletter! We've got some exciting news to tell you about. Two weeks ago, we announced our newest partner - San Diego Sports Innovators (SDSI) (www.sdsportinnovators.org), a division of CONNECT with a mission to help drive the growth of Southern California's vibrant sports economy by offering innovative programs and services for start-ups, mature companies and service providers. SDSI offers education and capital funding opportunities for start-ups, best practice collaboration, access to new technology and public policy advocacy for mature.

The sports economy in San Diego has quickly become a significant piece of our region's business innovation community, and we want to do our part to help it grow even further. SDSI provides an impressive support structure to these companies, and CRT's free mentoring services are a perfect complement to the programs. This partnership makes perfect sense for the regional sports industry, and we're honored to lend an active hand in its continued development, one company at a time!

As part of our agreement, CRT and SDSI will actively cross-promote each other's capabilities to companies within the Southern California sports innovation market with the intent on partnering to support specific organizations that are looking for assistance to assure long-standing, profitable growth. This agreement also marks the seventh such partnership we have engaged with other San Diego-based organizations, including BIOCOM, Cal State San Marcos, CONNECT, Corporate Directors Forum, Entrepreneurs' Organization and San Diego State University's Entrepreneurial Management Center.

As always, we welcome your feedback on our overall programs as well as thoughts on how we can communicate and engage you on these issues. Feel free to drop me a line at DaveCox@ChairmensRoundTable.com. I'll see you at the next CRT event!

                                                                                                Best!  Dave Cox

WHY "NOT SUCCEEDING" AND "FAILING" ARE DIFFERENT

The mid year brings with it an opportunity to take stock of New Year Resolutions to see where they stand. I guess it's natural to take a moment and reflect upon what's worked and what hasn't. For most of us, it's probably a mixed bag - some things exceeded our own expectations with others fell short.
