Many employers begin open enrollment for health insurance plans in July. As the cost of healthcare increases, families must take more responsibility for their healthcare choices. The good news is that there are excellent resources available to help you get the most for your healthcare dollars. Below are some important questions to ask about your insurance provider:
- How does the insurer rate and what is its reputation? Check out the following sites:
- Which providers are in the plan's network?
- Are the physicians Board Certified in their specialty?
- Are the hospitals accredited by The Joint Commission?
- Are the urgent care centers accredited by The Joint Commission?
In New York, only Immediate Care centers have earned Joint Commission accreditation!
Immediate Care currently contracts with all major insurance companies in Western New York including BlueCross BlueShield, Univera, MVP and The Empire Plan. Check our Web site for a complete list.
Please note: Independent Health has notified Immediate Care that they are terminating our contract effective December 31, 2012. We are continuing to work towards an agreement, but we want our patients to be aware of this possibility. If a new contract is not signed, patients with Independent Health insurance coverage will be charged out-of-network fees when coming to Immediate Care. Corporate Challenge 2012

On June 7th, nearly 100 WNY Immediate Care employees and their guests joined over 12,000 runners and walkers for the JP Morgan and Chase Corporate Challenge held in Delaware Park. We were treated to a beautiful day to enjoy good food and fellowship with the Buffalo community. If you didn't get a chance this year, we sure hope that you would come out and visit us at our tent next year. Thank you to all of those who participated and made this event a success!
