Christmas Gifts!

Christmas is a very special time for CIN. It is the time of year when family is cherished most, which becomes even more important for the children in our ministry locations. Will you help us this year in bringing the joy of Christmas to children and being a part of their family? A donation toward the CIN Christmas Gift Fund will help provide presents as well as for Christmas festivities for the children and the staff we impact in Bolivia, Colombia and Honduras.

BLC Christmas

First BLC Christmas Experience
Carlos and Wilder

Carlos and Wilder had never truly experienced a Christmas until last year at the Bolivia Life Center orphanage. Each year the orphanage celebrates with decorations, presents and a special dinner for the boys at the Life Center. Some of the boys have come to the BLC without ever celebrating Christmas before. They first came to the BLC in November 2010. Carlos and Wilder did not remember receiving any gifts for the previous Christmas and it was spent alone with their 11 year-old sister. They were not even sure of when Christmas was.

They did not know what to expect for their first Christmas at the BLC. They knew that something was in store because the other boys were practicing songs and skits. When Christmas Eve arrived, they began to understand what Christmas was going to be like at the BLC. There were decorations in the cafeteria, a tree with lights and Christmas music playing. Then they received gifts and spent time with the team visiting from the US. This was the first Christmas that they truly remember and have enjoyed talking about. They are both eagerly awaiting for this year's Christmas festivities at the BLC.

Our Second Graduate from the BLC

Last week Jaime graduated from high school receiving his diploma. He is the second boy from the BLC to complete high school. He has now entered the required military service and will remain in the program for 6 months. During his time away from the military service he will be living at CIN's LIFEhouse in Cochabamba.

Currently there are 5 boys living at the LIFEhouse. Sandro, Alberto, Jose, Joel, and Edgar are all over the age of 18 and are now living there. They will remain living at the house while they finish high school and during college.

Below is a photo of Jaime at his high school graduation with two other boys living at the LIFEhouse, Alberto (left) and Edgar (right).

Gift Matching

Does your employer match donations? Many companies will match their employees gifts - allowing you to easily double the impact and size of your donation?

Many corporations have money set aside for their employees to give to worthy nonprofits. If you work for such an organization, you can submit a matching gift request for your donation(s) to Children's Impact Network and instantly double your gift. This process often takes less than five minutes! If you are unsure if your company offers this benefit, here's a free online tool you can use: http://www.matchinggifts.com/demo.cfm
