Five Ways to Connect
Five Ways to Connect at Good Shepherd

Support Important Outreach Ministries
This Sunday, September 30, we hope you will pick one of these two outreach ministries to support. Church Under the Bridge, a ministry to the homeless and minimally housed in our city, meets at 3:00 p.m. at Mission House, 203 East Fourth Street. Those attending are served a nutritious meal and hear a sermon and music. Contact Pam Noyes or 859-873-5230 for more information. The 2012 Crop Hunger Walk also takes place on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. beginning at Second Presbyterian Church. A bus will be available for those who either can't or don't want to walk but wish to participate. Twenty-five percent of donations go to God's Pantry. Make donations online (go to the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church team). For more information contact Alice Dehner or 859-223-9117.

Monday Night Bible Study
A complicated and fascinating text, the Bible has been a source of wisdom, humor, inspiration and history for millennia. But how well do we really know it? Join a small group to read the Bible together verse by verse. All are welcome! Meets in the Bride's Room (downstairs) at 6:00 p.m. on Mondays. Click here for FAQs. Contact  Fr. Dominic Moore for more information.

Rector's Book Group
The Rector's Book Group returns on Thursday, October 4 at 6:30 p.m. in the Library. Please join Fr. Brian for conversation about Graham Greene's novel The Power and the Glory. Greene converted to Catholicism in 1926 and reported on religious persecution in Mexico in 1938. This reportage served as background for The Power and the Glory, one of his "Catholic" novels and considered by many his masterpiece. Please join us! Contact Fr. Brian for more information.

Race for the Cure - Team Pyddney

Join WKYT's Amber Philpott and Sam Dick along with Wells Fargo Advisors and friends of the late Pyddney Jones to celebrate the 16th Race for the Cure next Saturday, October 6. The day begins with breakfast at 7:00 a.m. at Wells Fargo Advisors with the race at 8:00 a.m. at Centerpointe Downtown. If you join and register for the race as a runner, walker or supporter and donate an additional $25 to be on Team Pyddney, the Wells Fargo Foundation will match that $25 up to 1,000 runners creating the possibility to raise $50,000 for the Lexington Chapter of the Komen Foundation.

The Blessing of the Animals
Join us next Sunday, October 7 at 3:00 p.m. at the Bell Court entrance to the church (office entrance). Horses, dogs, cats and more are welcome but please keep them on leashes and under control! Sheabel Pet Care Center will be providing goody bags for the blessed pets again this year. Don't miss this wonderful event for animal lovers and our animal friends. For more information, contact Erin Young.

Online Pictorial Directory
Online Pictorial Directory

We want to significantly add to the number of photos we have of our members and friends in the Courtyard online pictorial directory. A photographer will be set up in the Loggia/Concourse area Sunday morning to take pictures for anyone who doesn't currently have their image in Courtyard.

The online directory allows is easy to use with the ability to customize your own information, search for information on other members and connect with the rest of the Good Shepherd family. If you're already received an invitation and set up your account, you can click HERE to login or find the link under the "About Us" menu on the church web site. If you desire access to the directory, please contact the church office and we will make sure you gain access to this valuable resource.
