Please join us on Tuesday, August 14 at 7:00 p.m. at Village Host, 431 Old Vine Street for laughter, thought-provoking conversation and fellowship. This group discusses in open and respectful ways how we find God at work in our daily lives. Our guest will be the Rt. Rev. Makes Our Hearts Glad
It Makes Our Hearts Glad...

...that many Good Shepherd members have volunteered to provide hospitality to our diocesan family tomorrow evening at the Q and A session with the candidates for Bishop.

...that Graff Wilson is on a two week World Vision mission trip to Africa sponsored by Good Shepherd because of his active participation in our 30 Hour Famine. Please pray for safety and strength for him while he is away. Graff is the son of Shannon and the Rev. Janey Wilson.

...that the congregation responded so generously during July to support St. Agnes House with monetary donations totaling $2,200 in addition to a large quantity of needed supplies. St. Agnes House and its guests thank you!

"It Makes Our Hearts Glad" provides a way for members and friends to strengthen the fabric of our community by sharing good news or offer affirmations. The word "glad" is derived from Old and Middle English words meaning shining or bright. Add to the weekly "Glad Report" by email or by calling 859.252.1744.

A Beautiful Mess
A Beautiful Mess:
St. Agnes House Benefit
Saturday, August 11, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Life is messy. Life is beautiful.Taking care of friends, families, loved ones and nurturing those we love all while being open to what life holds is awesome.......and sometimes makes us want to hide in a locked bathroom with a Diet Coke, Snickers bar and our favorite magazine. In the spirit of "putting your own oxygen mask on first," come and enjoy a day at A Beautiful Mess. Using humor, conversation and material from their successful blogs, keynoters Heather King and Ellie Schoenberger will provide a day designed to nurture the nurturer and invite us to live creatively into our full, beautiful and messy lives. This event will be held on Saturday, August 11 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at St. Michael's Episcopal Church, 2025 Bellefonte Drive in Lexington. The cost is $35 per person or a group of five for $155 (register as group).

A Beautifully Messy VIP Night, held on Friday, August 10 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. will allow you the opportunity to meet and greet with Heather and Ellie, and a chance to get your hands a little messy if you desire. Make some art, make some friends, enjoy some tasty nibbles, have a blast...no artistic skill required! The cost is $65 per person or two for $120 (register together). Hosted at St. Michael's Episcopal Church.

Register here for both or either event. Proceeds benefit St. Agnes House, a hospitality ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Lexington. St. Agnes House provides lodging to patients and their loved ones coming to Lexington for medical treatment, primarily from Appalachian counties in Kentucky and neighboring states.
