Five Ways to Connect at Good Shepherd

Meet the Candidates for the 7th Bishop of Lexington

Next Friday, August 3 at 5:30 p.m., Good Shepherd has the privilege of hosting a question and answer session with the six candidates for the next Bishop of Lexington. This is an important opportunity to connect with the future pastor of our diocese and hear from the slate of candidates as they respond to your questions. Light refreshments will be provided and everyone is invited to attend.

Senior Lunch Bunch

If you are a senior, think you might be a senior, want to be a senior, can't help being a senior--mark your calendar now for Friday, August 24 at 12:30 p.m. for a catered lunch in the Undercroft. Sign up in the Loggia on Sunday or contact the church office.

Camp Indian Summer

Camp Indian Summer, August 24-26 at the Cathedral Domain, is a new opportunity for young-at-heart adults of all ages to forget the worries of everyday life and enjoy the carefree existence that made being young so special. No matter where you grew up or whether attending camp was a part of those early years, you are invited to be a camper for just a few days this August. Guaranteed it won't be long enough! This camp is not specific to any gender or age group and is not a reunion of former campers. Click here for complete information.

Living the Good Life: The Faith and Wellness Journey

Plan now to join us on Saturday, August 25 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. for "Living the Good Life: The Faith and Wellness Journey," an afternoon of learning, exploration and fun for all ages, featuring workshops and presentations on a variety of subjects related to wellness along with booths, fabulous door prizes and healthy snacks. RSVPs are strongly encouraged! Contact Deacon Lauren Villemuer to let her know you plan to attend.

The 5:00 p.m. Sunday Service
This late afternoon service of Holy Eucharist is a more intimate worship time for everyone, especially those who find themselves with work or other conflicts on Sunday morning. This service also has organ music and hymns. If you are already regularly attending this service and would like to be scheduled to serve as usher, lector, intercessor or Eucharistic minister, please stop by the back table and indicate your availability on the sign-up sheet or contact the church office.

Makes Our Hearts Glad
It Makes Our Hearts Glad...

...that members of our congregation--Carter Leer, Crawford Wiley and Katherine Wright--did an outstanding job at the organ the past two Sundays in John Linker's absence.

...to learn of the June 25 marriage of Lauren Plummer and Eric Luftman in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Lauren is the daughter of Mark and Ann Plummer.

...that Ed Tipton and Bluegrass Orthodontics were featured in the July 23 Herald-Leader for their practice of making a $100 donation in honor of their patients to schools in Fayette, Bourbon, Jessamine and surrounding counties.

"It Makes Our Hearts Glad" provides a way for members and friends to strengthen the fabric of our community by sharing good news or offer affirmations. The word "glad" is derived from Old and Middle English words meaning shining or bright. Add to the weekly "Glad Report" by email or by calling 859.252.1744.

St. Agnes House
Support St. Agnes House
We have had a great response to the call to support St. Agnes House this month. There are still a few Post-it notes left on the display in the Loggia. "Adopt" one of the notes and help cover a portion of the utilities expense for this significant outreach ministry to families who have loved ones in our Lexington hospitals.
