Corn shuckers--if you have an hour free in the late morning on Friday, July 13, come to the Undercroft and help get the corn ready. Stop by the CUTB display in the Loggia to sign up to prepare a simple dessert or to help serve on July 15.

It Makes Our Hearts Glad... ...that despite the heat, a large crowd gathered after the 5:00 service on Sunday to enjoy good food and time together as a church family. ...that Andrew Burton, son of Mark Burton and Reba Roberts, is traveling with the Kentucky Ambassadors of Music on a 16-day tour of Europe. As part of the Ambassadors band, Andrew will play concerts in England, France, Switzerland, Austria and Germany. Please keep him in your prayers. ...that Interim Assisting Bishop Chilton Knudsen sent an email to the office saying she is "so grateful for the support of everyone at Good Shepherd for St. Agnes House. It is a beautiful ministry which survives only by the kindness of others...including everyone at Good Shepherd. Thanks to you all for your support." St. Agnes House is her home when she is in Lexington. ..that Brian Baker, Karen Furlow's nephew, played so well this past week at Wimbledon. ...that Good Shepherd members Jack Brown, Terry Samuel, George VanMeter, Colleen Gross, Woody Van Meter, Mary Van Meter, Winn Stephens, Fr. Brian Cole and probably others ran in the Bluegrass 10,000 on July 4. They were cheered on by members of the parish family gathered on the front lawn of the church. "It Makes Our Hearts Glad" provides a way for members and friends to strengthen the fabric of our community by sharing good news or offer affirmations. The word "glad" is derived from Old and Middle English words meaning shining or bright. Add to the weekly "Glad Report" by email or by calling 859.252.1744. |
