Sorrow in Our Parish
 Mary Batts Floyd, mother of Good Shepherd communicant Jane Tipton, died Monday at her home in Lexington. Mrs. Floyd was a member of Central Christian Church and her funeral will be held there on Thursday, September 1, at 11 a.m. with private burial following at Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Milward-Southland Drive. Read the full obituary here. O God, whose mercies cannot be numbered: Accept our prayers on behalf of your servant Mary and grant her an entrance into the land of light and joy, in the fellowship of your saints; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
