Sorrow in Our Parish
Richard "Gordon" Scott, father of Good Shepherd communicant Kim Scott, died Friday at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington. Gordon was born Nov. 29, 1933, in Ashland. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First United d Methodist Church, 1811 Carter Ave. in Ashland. Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. O God, whose mercies cannot be numbered: Accept our prayers on behalf of your servant Gordon, and grant him an entrance into the land of light and joy, in the fellowship of your saints; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.
