New Tenants
Two entrepreneurial artisans will be joining Independent Fabrication and BaileyWorks as Newmarket Mill tenants within the next few months. Jeanne Freeze owns and runs Pixie Dust Originals, a company dedicated to recycling, reusing, and re-imagining all sorts of fabrics and findings, then transforming them into one-of-a-kind home décor and "wearable art". She will be joined by Amy Dubois, owner of Newmarket Sewing Works. Her workroom for soft home furnishings specializes in window treatments, bedding, slipcovers, pillows, and indoor/outdoor/boat cushions. The two businesses are teaming up to share space, starting in September.

This past month, Chinburg Builders began the installation of radiant heat, which will be the standard for all residential units. Tubes that circulate hot water are installed in the concrete slab when it's poured, turning the thermal mass of the concrete into an inconspicuous radiator of warm, even heat. Don't let the cold-looking concrete floors deceive you; every resident's feet will be warm throughout the winter! According to ConcreteNetwork.com, "you can save energy and create a healthier, more comfortable living environment by having the floor itself distribute the heat-from the ground up-via a radiant in-floor heating system."

Construction of the hardscape portion of the public park and patio is nearly complete, with landscaping and lighting to come in the near future. This park will be a great vantage point to view the falls and will be open to residents and visitors alike.
