Jazzy Juniors Kicking for CASA
Last Wednesday, the Jazzy Juniors of Memorial Baptist Church hosted a soccer game to help raise funds for CASA. Their spring mission project was a great success with cheerleaders, soccer players and a huge crowd of supporters cheering them on.
The children raised over $1,100 that evening to help CASA serve more children in our community.
Thank you Jazzy Juniors for helping
CASA serve children in our community!

Congress Moves Swiftly
A report from National CASA regarding funding for vital services to abused and neglected children at risk.
"The Administration's budget for the fiscal year beginning this October recommends elimination of funding for the four programs in the Victims of Child Abuse Act, including CASA for Children. Since National CASA was informed about this extreme funding cut-which will devastate our ability to put caring adults in the lives of abused children-we have been mobilizing support among our national network and meeting with elected officials. Response In March, thousands of CASA supporters responded to our action alert, urging their elected officials to restore CASA funding. Over the last several weeks, CASA representatives described the vital support volunteers provide for abused children to staff of nearly 50 congressional offices in Washington, DC. They targeted members of appropriations committees that have jurisdiction for funding the CASA program. Results Just within the course of this past week, both the House and Senate appropriations subcommittees and full committees have completed work on Justice appropriations. The Senate has recommended $6 million for the CASA program for FY 2013, and the House recommendation has come in at $4.5 million." - Learn More
Thank you to everyone who contacted their elected officials . At this point, no additional outreach to congressional offices is needed. National CASA will continue to explore every option that might become available to increase the level of funding.
