Benefit Concert & Silent Auction
Support CASA while enjoying the musical talent of Jonny Lipford!
March 17, 2011, 6:15 (Silent Auction) and 7:00pm (Concert)
Location: Temple House of Israel, 15 North Market Street Staunton
Tickets: $15,
Tickets available at the following locations: Sacred Circle, Shanti, Fretwell Bass, and Equal Parts.
Jonny Lipford is on his national tour to promote the release of his 5th album, A Breeze At 72 Degrees. Lipford, who has been nominated for over 10 music awards with 3 wins, specializes in the Native American flute. His style of music, which has been labeled as "Hybrid Instrumental Music," pushes the boundaries of this ancient instrument.
Recently, Lipford was selected from over 200 artists to represent the Music Matters Project with Empty Vessel Music, an organization that provides music education, music appreciation and intervention for at-risk children in metropolitan areas.
Opening for this event is local group, Three Guys with Notes, a trio who plays a mixture of all the music and rhythms of life as they feel them. When asked about their genre, they replied, " We play Native American Hindu Classical Rock Funk Jazz Blues type music." That answer slowly became, "We play notes." And that is how the band got its name.

Monthly Reports: CASA Volunteers are expected to submit a monthly report to the staff by the 3rd of each month, covering their advocacy efforts from the 1st to the 31st of the month prior. This includes completion of a Monthly Report form which consists of a check list of duties, i.e. visited each child, spoke to each parent, observed visitation, etc... Along with their Monthly Report forms they are also expected to submit all of their case notes including copying and pasting emails sent and received, notes from attending court hearings, and meetings with the family and other professionals. They keep a record of the amount of time spent on each item listed on their reports as well as mileage if applicable. The Volunteers' reports are reviewed each month by me and, after review of the case file, case action plans are drafted and sent back to the Volunteers. These action plans give the Volunteers guidance and open the doors to thinking outside the box. If the Volunteer feels more support is needed, a meeting is scheduled for them to come to the office, and we will "case action plan" together! |
