Tips for Safety

Our program is highly invested in keeping our CASA volunteers safe.  The following is an abbreviated list of ways to remain safe while serving your CASA child:
  • Think ahead.  Know the situation and location in order to look confident.
  • Make sure someone knows the location and duration of your visit and the time of your return.  If plans change, call and let that person know.
  • If necessary, travel in pairs.
  • Trust your instincts.  If you are really uncomfortable, take protective action--walk away.
  • Never give out too much personal information about yourself or your family.
Additional volunteer safety tips can be found in the CASA training manual in unit 3 of chapter ten. If you ever have a question or concern about the safety of any aspect of your work, please contact me immediately.  When in doubt...let's talk it out!  Please feel free to contact me anytime!

Giving Circle
Are you passionate about CASA for Children?  Do you tell everyone you know about this much needed service in our community?  Consider hosting a Giving Circle, to encourage your friends and family to become involved.

The Giving Circle is a gathering of friends for a fun evening while impacting their community. At the end of the evening, friends are invited to make a donation to CASA for Children for the amount it would cost to eat out for dinner.

Stop by our office to pick up postcard invitations, brochures and learn more on how to host this meaningful evening.
