The Giving Circle

Giving CircleThis winter our Board of Directors is kicking off a new fundraising/awareness initiative for CASA through The Giving Circle

The Giving Circle is a gathering of friends for a fun evening while impacting their community. At the end of the evening, friends are invited to make a donation to CASA for Children for the amount it would cost to eat out for dinner.

We invite you to consider hosting a Giving Circle for your friends and family.  CASA will provide you with invitations, brochures and instructions on how to host this meaningful evening.  Please contact our office for more information.
Alleghany Volunteer Inducted

Alleghany Volunteer
Covington/Alleghany County's
newest volunteer, Wanda May
On Friday September 24th, the Honorable Judge Laura Dascher inducted CASA's newest volunteer, Wanda May.

Wanda May was born in Maryland, moved to Reno, NV in 1976, and to Bath Co. in 2003. She is married, has one daughter living in Alleghany County, and two grown grandchildren in Kentucky. "I first heard of CASA while living in Reno. I'm retired, and I've been an hospice volunteer for more than 3 years. I became a CASA volunteer to help make a difference in the lives of some of our children. Children deserve a safe, loving, happy home environment. I encourage everyone to volunteer for his/her favorite organization."

CASA has advocated for the children of Covington/Alleghany since January 2010.

Gift GivingCASA's Gift Giving Policy
As the Holidays swiftly approach, I want to remind our generous volunteers of the CASA for Children gift giving policy.  (This relates to Christmas, Birthdays, Easter, etc...)
  • Volunteers are not expected to give gifts to the children they are assigned.
  • If you choose to purchase gifts, they are to cost no more than $10.00 per child.  However, if you desire to do more for the children you are appointed to, contact me directly.  Other purchases can be "donated" from you through another source.  For example:  If you wanted to purchase a coat for a child, and it is approved by Michael Nay or me, it can be given to the social worker to be delivered to the child.  It should not be shared that the gift came from CASA but as an anonymous donation.
  • CASA for Children does not support gifting to the parents.
When in doubt...let's talk it out!  Please feel free to contact me anytime!
Friends of CASA

We invite you to join our newest committee, Friends of CASA.  This committee is designed to involve community members who are unable to devote the time to be a CASA advocate, but would like to volunteer in another capacity.

Please contact Michael Nay for more information.
