Wonder Woman Works Here By Connie Moore, CPC
One day recently I was sorting through some boxes, in a valiant effort to organize and de-clutter. While I was immersed in this daunting task, I came upon a little sign that I used to have on my desk, and it brought back such nice memories.
On Monday June 6th, I977 I opened the doors of my own search business, which was originally known as Permanent Staff. I enlisted the help of my two step daughters Cindy and Lori and step son Scott to help get the office set up and organized. We spent a lot of time that weekend prior to the Monday Grand Opening to make sure that everything was perfect and very professional looking! My step son Scott who was 12 at the time, proudly presented me with a plaque to put on my desk, and it was titled "Wonder Woman Works Here."
Much time has passed, and my step children are now grown with children of their own. Scott has a son, AJ who is 12 and the light of his life. I have retrieved the plaque, dusted it off and it is on my desk once again.
Often it is the little things in our busy lives that are really meaningful and that little plaque meant a lot to me back on that Monday in June 1977. And it means more than ever, 34 years later on this Monday, June 6, 2011.
My wish for all of you is to experience joy and heartwarming memories in the little things that come your way...

The Steve Jobs Way: iLeadership for a New Generation Jay Elliot with William L. Simon Apple is on a roll and we want to know how Steve Jobs does it. The Steve Jobs way is, in a word, passion. Passion drives his perseverance and momentum through setbacks. Passion obliges his attention to detail. Passion necessitates his intense focus. Passion fuels his outbursts. Passion compels him to encourage those around him. Passion urges him to compete with himself. Passion informs his decisions. Passion is the "magic." Jay Elliot writes The Steve Jobs Way as an early insider at Apple, which makes his take on Apple and Jobs all the more interesting and nuanced. Elliot, while sitting in a restaurant, was hired by Jobs to be the senior vice-president and as it turned out, his sounding board. Jobs succeeds because he follows his passions. The 10 Best Questions to Ask at a Job Interview - By Karen Burns
You're interviewing for a job. After 20 or 30 minutes, you're asked: "Do you have any questions?"
The worst thing you can do is ask, "What is it your company does?" (Hey, it has happened.) The next worst thing you can do is say, "Um, nope, I don't have any questions."
You need to ask some questions! Asking questions shows your interest in a company and makes you look smarter (smart people tend to be inquisitive). Asking questions gives interviewers a chance to talk about themselves, a thing most people love. And-this is important-asking questions is a way to find out if you really want to work for these people.
Bottom line: Don't make the interviewer do all the heavy lifting. Take an active role in the interview process and improve your chances of landing a job.
So what should you ask? Here are 10 suggestions: Read more...
