Dear DSC Community:

As you know, our Executive Director, Greg Cantori's last day was Friday, September 28^th. As a result,  I would like to update you on two fronts - the status of the Executive Director Search and a newly appointed Board Member.

DSC Board Member, Bryan Richardson, is actively heading up the Search Committee for a new Executive Director. We have interviewed some great candidates and are continuing our process until we find the "right" person for the job. In the interim, we have hired Susan Pollack as Interim Executive Director to manage the day to day operations of the Downtown Sailing Center and to continue with our fundraising efforts. 

Susan is a non-profit management consultant with extensive experience in the non-profit sector; as a consultant she completed our organizational assessment in 2012 and our fund development plan for 2012. Susan knows and understands the DSC's business and will be a great asset during our transition.

I have great news, while he will no longer serve as Executive Director, Greg Cantori has been appointed to the Board of Directors, where he will serve as the Chair of the Fund Development Committee.  We are very pleased to have Greg on the Board, continuing all the great work he started in fundraising for the DSC. Greg will head up the development of our 2013 Fund Development Plan and our vision for funding the DSC in the future. This is a critical year for our fundraising and we look forward to his contribution.  Please join me in welcoming Greg to the DSC Board!

Business at the Downtown Sailing Center will go on as usual throughout the rest of this fiscal year. Lynn, Traci and Stuart will continue their great work in their functional areas. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact them, Susan Pollack or myself.
