Participants will sail on our J22 fleet and engage in STEM-centered activities.  It is the most beautiful time of year to sail. Don't let your child miss out!

The Fleet & Facilities Committee met on last Wednesday night and will shortly be issuing a detailed off-season work plan, including sailboats, power boats, docks and other facilities. . . . . stay tuned!

 
Though considered late in the season for the enrollment of brand new DSC Members, we are very pleased to have in our company 10 new DSC Crew Level Members who have joined the Downtown Sailing Center during the Month of September.  Please. join the staff sending out a "Welcome Aboard!" to: Suzanne, Jennifer, Wheeler, Olivier, Dana, Corinne, Azuwuike, Aaron, Angela, and Boris! 

 
The Downtown Sailing Center would like to thank our recent corporate clients who have engaged in exciting and successful Team Building events.  We have hosted PHH Fleet Management, Michele's Granola, RCM&D, Coppin State University, CollegeTown Network, and look forward to Graham Packacking of York, Pennsylvannia, who will be bringing their executives to the DSC next week!  Go Teams!

Sunday, September 30, 2012 ~ Noon to 4:00 PM

Three clicks and you're sailing!  This Sunday is the final "seasonal" DSC Member Open Sail and we hope to see a healthy turnout of Crew and Skippers. 

Greg and Traci will be dockside at the end of the event to greet our Crew and Skippers in an informal, impromptu, BBQ.  Please join us for a beer and a hot dog (or grilled cheese sammie) and celebrate the final Open Sail of the year. 

Note: Frostbite Racing Series events will start up in late October.  Lend a hand at a work party and come race around short courses - we'll publish additional details in the coming weeks. 

*Open Sails are a beneift for paid in full Members of the Downtown Sailing Center at Crew and Skipper Levels.  No guests, please.

Reminders about parking for DSC Members - your cooperation is very much appreciated:

1. Seek parking on the gravel area near the docks.  If no parking is available in that area, limited blacktop parking can be utilized, keeping as close to the docks as possible. 
2. The "Entrance" Gate is solely for the purpose of vehicular traffic entering the BMI/DSC parking lot.  Do not use this as a vehicle exit from the property at any time unless the "Exit" gate is locked.  The "Exit" Gate should be utilized to leave the property.  (This applies to moving vehicles only, not pedestrian or bicycle traffic.)
3. Skippers and Dock Masters performing end of day "securing the property" duties as the last remaining members on site will be required to close and lock both the Entrance and Exit Gates in the future. 
4. Please drive slowly and keep watch for pedestrians, especially children, and also wildlife in the parking area.
