Sail For Kids Inspiration Series: Chapter One
The Inspiration Series will tell the story of DSC outreach programs by spotlighting the kids that sail with us.
Pimlico Road Youth Summer Program is located in Northwest Baltimore in the Park Heights neighborhood. They run a day camp for $60/week. Over the past few years, we have been fortunate enough to provide an enrich
ing program as one of their "field trips" ("sea trips"?).
This year, the program director complimented us by saying that the DSC provides one of their most unique and enjoyable experiences and that all of their campers look forward to it for the whole summer. They arrive today!
Corey, an 8-year old camper who lives with his mom and loves math, lit up when he heard about the DSC because he has never been on a boat before and couldn't believe he was getting a chance to sail in the Inner Harbor. Follow Corey's adventure on Facebook this afternoon and look for an update in the newsletter!
To keep giving students like Corey such a unique experience, we need your help! Pimlico Road can only afford $15 per camper which leaves a gap of $35 per child for us to sustain this program.
Please, help the DSC raise $1,500 for the Pimlico Road children. We would love to give them two sailing experiences this summer, one being an opportunity to race in the Sail for Kids Regatta. We only need 150 people to donate $10 to reach our goal. Our challenge is to reach it by Monday July 16th.
$35 will support one child
$800 will support their their participation at Sail For Kids
$700 will support ALL 20 children for an outing
Your donation will go directly to this program and help the DSC reach the larger goal of $20,000 by the end of July.
Thanks for all of your support.

Corey is the young man in the stripped tank top. Doesn't he look like a natural sailor?
