Not sure what to get someone you care about this holiday season? Does someone you know want to learn to sail?  Do you want to give a gift that will inspire and teach someone to love sailing? Then give the gift of sailing.

This season we are offering gift certificates available in any denomination for memberships, adult and juniors education courses, and anything else we offer at the sailing center.  If you'd like yours mailed(or emailed), please order yours by contacting Grady by December 20, 2011 or stop by the office before December 22 to pick one up.

You can give a friend or fellow sailor a gift of sailing this holiday season. In the process of giving your gift, you will be supporting the mission of the Downtown Sailing Center. When you purchase a gift certificate for a friend of loved one this holiday season, you are helping someone experience sailing through our amazing education or recreational sailing membership programs. You are also helping the organization reach thousands of individuals who might not otherwise experience the life enriching experience of sailing.

Tuesday night was a great first round for our new monthly volunteer happy hour at the Downtown Sailing Center. The Feisty Goat Pub provided great specials and a welcoming atmosphere. There were volunteers from the accessible programs, outreach programs, fleet and facility work parties, and open sails.

It was exciting to see so many people together in one place. Everyone was having so much fun that many people stayed beyond happy hour to continue to hang out with their DSC friends.

The next volunteer happy hour is up on the calendar for January 24th. The theme for January's event is Bring a Friend to Happy Hour. We want to show your friends how great the DSC is as an organization and a great place to volunteer. 

If you know a member who didn't make it out this time or if you know a friend who just wants to come for fun, bring them along. Please register as soon as you can to receive any drink specials or plans for the evening.
