Volunteer Social
Miss your DSC volunteer friends or want to come out and see what volunteering at the DSC is all about? Then come to the first volunteer happy hour at the Feisty Goat Pub on Key Highway across the street from the DSC.
It's a small place with great food, specials and a close tie to the DSC, the owner is Steve Gross's nephew. This event is open to everyone so even if you have never volunteered before it will be a great opportunity to meet other DSC members and learn about all the volunteer opportunities.
Sign up to let us know your coming!
Make sure you check out the DSC blog every week to receive updates on Baltimore Born and the STEM camp. The students had a great time last week learning about fathoms and stepping on a sailboat for the first time.
We are always in need of volunteers so please let Lynn know if you are interested in helping out. |

Work Party News
On Saturday morning, we will continue with our weekly Work Parties. So far we have had great turn outs of around 25 volunteers per Saturday, and if you have been to the DSC lately, you can see the difference they are making. If you are interested in volunteering for the work party, here are this weeks projects:
J/22 Jammin' triage
15' Boston Whaler powerboat bottom prep
Sail container organization
If you would like to find out more about the Saturday morning Work Party visit the DSC blog.
As always, your registration is appreciated so we can plan the volunteer tasks. |

Winter Sailing Policy Reminder
Safety at the DSC is our number one concern, just ahead of fun. In order to ensure everyone has a safe and fun time while on the docks and sailing at the DSC, we amend some of our policies and procedures during winter months.
To find out more about or winter policy and safety guidelines check out the latest blog from Waterfront Manager Sean.
If you have any questions or comments please call the office at (410) 727-0722. |

December Donations and Renewals
Happy Holidays from all of us here at the Downtown Sailing Center. We would like to thank everyone who has joined and donated in the first week of our December membership promotion and end of year giving campaign. We are off to a great start thanks to your generous efforts. Last year four members signed up in the first week of the December membership drive. This year, 17 returning members have registered for next season. By the end of the month there were 135 new and returning members in 2010... Will we get to 150 members this year?
We will with your help! Early memberships are paramount to the Downtown Sailing Center's success. Your early membership helps us do more during the winter months by providing us with the resources to fix the fleet and prepare for member events, education classes and more.
Joining and donating to the Downtown Sailing Center during our December membership and annual giving campaign are two great ways you can support the sailing center this holiday season. We appreciate your membership and to say thanks, we are offering the best discount of the year now! Until December 31, 2011 all crew, Impulse 21, J/22 and Sonar skipper level memberships are 10% off!
Renewing your membership is easy. Click here to learn how easy it can be to renew your membership today!
Not ready to join for 2012? You can support the Downtown Sailing Center this holiday season by making a donation to our end of year campaign. All donations are tax deductible and even $10 can make a huge difference for the more than 1500 accessible and youth sailors we serve annually. We have made it easy to give this year. You can donate in any amount on our donation page or "donate your discount" back to the sailing center when you join. Either way, donating to the sailing center has never been easier.
Thank you and Happy Holidays!
