Have you registered for the 4th Annual Sail For Kids Regatta and Fundraiser yet? Registering for this event as a sailor, volunteer or "fund racer" is easy and fun! Once registered you can even build your own fundraising page or join one of the other registered teams!

Every year the Downtown Sailing Center helps nearly 1500 Baltimore area youth learn valuable life skills while learning to sail. Through our youth camps, community outreach programs, Sailing Instructor Trainee program, and Accessible Freedom Camps we help Baltimore area kids connect with sailing, and in the process we change their lives.

This year's Sail For Kids Regatta and Fundraiser event is a two day regatta - and everyone is encouraged to participate.  There will be serious racing for serious sailors. Fun racing for those who are just starting out. Cruising boats, spinnaker flying keelboats, non-spinnaker daysailors, and Access Dinghies will all be vying for top spots.

Evenings will be filled with fun social activities including a post race party at Little Havana on Saturday July 23 and a mid-summer-family-friendly-invite-your-friends-style-catered-bar-b-cue and awards ceremony Sunday July 24. Everyone is invited to join us Sunday night for food, drinks, live music and fun (tickets $25).

Our goal is to have more than 200 individuals sailing, volunteering and joining us for the post race parties! Register today to become a part of the biggest event of the summer!

Once you've registered...

Once you have registered for the Sail For Kids event, you will be invited to help us create awareness and raise funds for the Downtown Sailing Center's youth and community outreach programs. This is a wonderful cause, and your online fundraising efforts can make a HUGE difference in how many young people we can share the gifts of sailing with.

Our fundraising goal for this event is $20,000, and we are asking for your help. Since you have taken on the challenge of participating in the event, please consider taking on a more important challenge - fundraising.

It is easy to create an individual or team fundraising page on our Downtown Sailing Center Giving Page. It only takes about 10 minutes to personalize your page and start raising money for the Downtown Sailing Center.

For more information on registering for Sail For Kids, or to learn more about setting up your fundraising page - contact the office at 410-727-0722 or Kristen@downtownsailing.org.

We rely on the dedicated efforts of supports like you.  Thank you for all you do.

Parking Reminder

The campus of the BMI closes at 10:00 P.M. At 10:00 P.M. the gate must be closed and locked and all vehicles without a parking pass must be off of the lot. If you are the last vehicle off of the lot at night, please close and lock the gate when you leave. Your help in closing and locking the facility is greatly appreciated and goes a long way to keeping costs down and providing a safe environment for all of us.

Thank you -

Calling Skippers and Dockmasters!

Wanna know why the registration system is so great? Because when 25 crew members register for an open sail like they did tonight we know If we have enough skippers to get those crew on the water.

Tonight, we do not have enough skippers signed up to get those crew on the water, and we need you as a skipper to sign up now! We also need skippers for this Sunday's Open Sail.

We are also in need of a Dockmaster or two to help organize the boats and sailors tonight so please sign up If you are an available dockmaster!

Volunteer Request

Big projects require great volunteers, and the deck repair on Chenonceau is a big one! We need help finishing up the repair this Saturday. If you would like to help sand and prep the boat for finish work please email Sean!
