BMI Red Flag Days
May 12 and May 14 are Red Flag days at the BMI.
From time to time the Baltimore Museum of Industry has events here at their facility (1425 Key Highway) that require that our members and visitors park elsewhere.
During Red Flag Days a red flag will be prominently displayed at the entrance gate to the BMI campus. In the event that this flag is displayed, please do no park on the BMI campus. Towing will be enforced by the BMI.
We do our best to schedule our events so that they do not conflict with BMI red flag days, but occasionally there are conflicts. In the event that you are coming to sail at the DSC or are attending a DSC event - and a red flag day is happening - please do not park on the BMI campus. There is ample street parking available in the neighborhood.

Volunteer Opportunities
It's the 11th hour of prep time for the Cruisers University boat show in the Inner Harbor this weekend! That means we are turning to you, our volunteer extraordinaire to help us get ready and have a great event!
Though we have been working hard for weeks, we need help pulling together last minute details. Sean is at Tidewater Marina all day Wednesday getting our Passport 40 ready to show the BEST of what the DSC has to offer, and he needs your help! We also need to get the Access Dinghies ready to be the center stage of the show as show participants will be sailing them around the Inner Harbor. Let Sean know if you are available to volunteer by emailing him or call him the office at(410) 727-0722.
The boat show organizers heard about the amazing volunteers we have here and asked us If any of you would be interested in helping out at the show. This means you will have back stage passes to lectures, cruising exposes, a free ticket to the show, and lots more. Please email Grady if you are interested! |

Accessible Sailing
On Saturday we had another great day out on the water for our access-ability participants. The weather was perfect and everyone had a great time. All the participants were out on the water quickly and had their first race of the season!
Thank you to all the volunteers for making it a great event. As May continues our events are becoming more frequent so if you are interested in volunteering or participating please check out the accessible calendar.
This week and next week, we have the League for People with Disabilities on Tuesday nights so if you are interested in volunteering please register on the calendar.
One event that everyone should check out is our next access dinghy orientation and Best Practices for Access Dinghy Sailing and Instruction on May 19th. The evening is dedicated to enhancing and improving everyone's access skills from correct rigging to coaching on the safety boat. The event will be a great way to meet the other volunteers and perfect your skills.
