Volunteering
It's a very busy time of year at the DSC which means we need the help of our outstanding volunteers! Here are several volunteer opportunities coming up:
Spring Work Party: Join us this Saturday to help get the fleet and our facilities ready for the coming season!
Container Transport: We are moving our containers this Friday, March 25, and need your help! A crane will be picking the containers up and moving them to the lower lot and we need to make sure everything inside the containers is safe to move. Let Grady know if you can help!

Racing Rules Meeting
Attention racers! What is the definition of "Keep Clear?" Is a starboard tack boat required to hail "Starboard" to a port tack boat? If two boats, on the same tack and overlapped, are sailing a close hauled course approaching an obstruction, and the outside boat calls for "Room to tack!" what must the inside boat do? Not quite sure? Join us Thursday, March 24, from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. in the BMI Liberty room for the annual Race Rules Meeting.

Staff - New Faces
The Downtown Sailing Center (DSC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Sean Beale-Rosano as Waterfront Manager. As the waterfront manager Sean will be responsible for coordinating the volunteer supported maintenance of the DSC's fleet of more than 50 boats as well as overseeing day-to-day on the water operations.
Sean began sailing at a young age on dinghies with his father. Learning to sail in southern California, he excelled in local youth sailing programs and began coaching as a teen. His calling for sailing soon progressed him to crew larger racing and cruising yachts in California before coaching high school sailing teams and teaching at both the SCCYC and UCLA's Marina Aquatic Center.
Head on over to the blog to read more about Sean!

Recreational Sailing and Open House
WOW! We already have 38 participants registered for our April 9th Open House. Our Open House events are designed to get the general public and new sailors on the water, and it looks like we are off to a great start!
To get that many new sailors on the water we need the help of our members. We need skippers and crew to take the participants out for a fun day on the water to spread the love of sailing! Register on the event page to help us out!
