This is the first issue of the weekly Downtown Sailing Center e-newsletter, 'DSC Currents'. Thanks to the input of the over 130 responders to our recent communications survey, we have built this newsletter to better communicate with you!

Why weekly? Cause just about all of you asked for it, and because there is A LOT going on around the DSC! From program planning to weekly seminars, frostbite sailing, and more, we have lots to tell you about.

In the 'Current' you will find a calendar highlighting some of our upcoming events but don't forget to check the official DSC Calendar for a complete list of events and details.

You will also find a section dedicated to each of the individual programs the DSC has to offer with news, highlights, pictures and more.

It is never too early to start thinking about which part of the Bay you will find yourself gunkholing in this summer. Because of that, we have organized the winter cruising meeting to be held at the DSC offices on February 13th.

Whether you are a cruising veteran or just interested in finding out more about the cruising program we'd love to have you join us.

DSC members and fans - we need your help.  Baltimore's Downtown Sailing Center is a volunteer driven organization and in order to complete the incredible amount of winter boat maintenance and organizational planning we need volunteers.

Currently we are in need of individuals who are interested in working on the boats to register online for our winter boat maintenance days. 

No good with a sander?  Don't fear - we still need your help. There are several important projects in the office that are perfect for a volunteer.  Contact Grady Byus, office manager, to learn more.

Accessible Sailors and Volunteers! The DSC and the International Center for Spinal Cord Injury(ICSCI) invite you to a virtual sailing open house February 4th!

Please join us at this working social event launching a partnership between ICSCI and DSC. Meet key staff, learn about our exciting new program using sailing simulator technology and on-the-water sailing to improve function and quality of life for people living with paralysis, and try the VSail Access Simulator yourself!

Winter frostbite racing is in full swing.  Every other Saturday we have been knocking the snow off the boats and having a blast racing directly off of the DSC docks.  Check out the latest blog post to learn more about winter racing.
