Winter Adult Education
It may be cold outside but the classrooms here on the campus of the Baltimore Museum of Industry are warm and welcoming. This is a great time of year to learn more about seamanship, marine electronics, sailing theory, and more!
Baltimore's Downtown Sailing Center will be offering plenty of classroom-based education this winter, and we hope you will join us.
February 5th from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. DSC instructor Bill Kautter will be teaching Marine Electronics. Bill, a USCG licensed captain with a BS in electrical engineering and more than 30 years of experience working on sailboats will cover marine electrical systems for auxiliary sailboats including:
-Major AC and DC electrical systems typically found on small to medium size auxiliary sailboats.
-Tools and supplies needed to install or repair those systems.
-Troubleshooting techniques for common problems.
Education is at the core of our mission and a benefit of membership. Active 2011 members receive reduced tuition for all adult education courses. Checkout the DSC calendar to learn more and register.

Boats Are in the Barn!
The Downtown Sailing Center has secured indoor storage for our day sailing fleet. This is an exciting opportunity to prepare our fleet for a summer of safe and fun sailing.
We need your help to make the most of our indoor storage!
We have posted work party hours on The Downtown Sailing Center calendar. Volunteers are encouraged to come and contribute to the maintenance and improvement of the fleet.
Training is provided and everyone is encouraged to stop by and help. If you have not already registered as a boat maintenance volunteer, please click on over to our website and register today!

Brrrr! Frostbite Sailing Update
Saturday January 15, 2011 more than 20 DSC sailors braved icy waters to hone their sailing skills and share in some great winter fun! The next frostbite session will be January 29, 2011. Check the calendar to learn more.
