TIES TIES TIES ties ties ties...
Out of fashion? Out of favor? Here are some suggestions!
Neckties have been around in some form or another for eons...way back to the early 1600s in Europe. And, quite frankly, some of them in your closets probably look like that too, right? So, what to do with that fabulous cloth? Silk and poly can be used a number of ways from making quilts, purses, cravats and scarves, skirts, a strap for a guitar or bag and even coffee cozies!
The photo to your right is linked to several ideas to help get you started. We get ties frequently at the store and the selection varies. We have even had people come in to just buy a tie to wear - how novel! Links below might be inspiring - check them out!

NEW HOURS for the STORE Start Next Week!
We are honing in on our first anniversary and...the concept is WORKING!
This summer we have had a student group, The SCNO, collecting data for us to learn more about what YOU want from us at the store. We are so pleased with your willingness to share your thoughts - thank you. As a result, we are opening our store for more shopping and drop-offs on Wednesdays starting July 27th and changing our Saturday hours, too. The weekday hours will 2 - 7 pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturdays will now be 10 am - 3 pm. We appreciate all your support in both shopping and dropping-off your really excellent donations! Our store and workshop space remodeling is coming along slowly but coming along! We hope to have everything put back in place by the middle of August!

So, What's This All About?
The Champaign Urbana Schools Foundation saw a need in the community to accomplish several things: 1. Support the arts and arts education, 2. Support environmental education in our communities, 3. Impact the environment by reducing the rate of waste disposal, 4. create a place for everyone to have access to quality materials and 5. Support itself in light of the difficult economic times. So donate your discards and shop re-use. Its about making a difference!
