We are GROWINGGGGGGG!
We're growing all-right - even faster than we anticipated!
There is just no question that we are the coolest thing since recycled plastic. We just opened our new receiving area in the hall next to the store. This will let us expand the floor space for more stuff. Everyone is so generous with their creative donations that we need to showcase even more variety than what we have! Come in to see the changes we are making!
Also, keep an eye out for more changes in the next 6 weeks to get ready for fall. This includes a new class/ workshop room, more storage and more sales floor area. A list will be posted with the semester's workshops too! And, we will be expanding our hours! Whew! Heads-up! NCSO - The Non-profit Consulting Student Organization - is working with us this summer to help us learn more about what we can do to serve you and the community better. When you come to shop or donate, you might be asked to answer a few questions. Please help us! And, so many thanks to those of you who have already helped us out! Thank you, NCSO for your hard work!!

Recycling Part II: Re-use and Recycling - More You Can Do!
A little bit more about what you CAN recycle and how to do it...
Last week we talked about how to recycle at home. Even if you can't throw something in your recycling bin at home, all hope is not lost! There are plenty of other opportunities to reuse or recycle those other items.
You can recycle many items, or they can be reused elsewhere. Some examples of these are shoes, glasses, electronics, cell phones, lightbulbs, and much, much more.
Of course the most efficient thing to do is just reduce the amount of what you use - across the board. And that next best thing to do is to find another use for your unwanted item. If you just can't find anything to do with it, though, recycling is much better than throwing it away. Check the Cities of Champaign or Urbana websites for local spots to drop off a wide variety of material that just shouldn't go into the landfills. Can't find what you're looking for there? Check out earth911.org! This site is loaded with great info. Did you know you can recycle hair? and rechargeable batteries?
check this out...and some of the stuff on this list, we take here at the store!!
