We have a variety of different materials! Leather, and tubes, and buttons! Oh my!
Community Chain - Open studio time for all! Link our communities together!
Come help us make MILES of Community Chain out of used bill board materials. Its built with dollar-bill size folded pieces. Add your links! We will provide all the materials. This chain will be re-used several times in the community - linking us all together - and will ultimately be installed early this summer at the corner of Main and Neil in Champaign IL on the fence surrounding the Metropolitan Building Fire site.
Are you thinking about your goals for the year? Wanting to make your fine art, functional art or craft projects but need a reason, a drive, and don't have enough space for it to be added to your collection?
Consider creating for The I.D.E.A. Store. We are seeking donations of various works of art that are created from supplies from the store or reused objects from other sources. Artwork that is donated will be part of The I.D.E.A. Store gallery exhibit at Indi Go Artist Co-Op and the CUSF Gala.
We will accept all types of art donations including but not limited to sculpture, clothing, home decor, cards, crafts, jewelry, everyday items, etc. Find out more details!
All donated art work must be submitted to the store no later than April 5, 2011. If you are planning to donate a piece or two of your work, it would be great if you could let us know. Drop us an email at info@the-idea-store.org!
Eco Party at The I.D.E.A. Store: Reserve Yours Today!
We love a fun party, and have had the pleasure of hosting several since the store opened just over 4 months ago. Of course, birthday parties for youngsters are popular, but the store has also hosted a very special retirement event. Please keep The I.D.E.A. Store in mind when you have a celebration coming up and want a unique creative experience for your guests! You can see the "Party Agreement" at www.the-idea-store.org . It's best to reserve the store for your event at least three weeks in advance.
To date, party themes that birthday youngsters have chosen are self-portraits featuring Mardi Gras beads, found object monsters, "aminals" of mixed and matched animal features, and embellished paper dolls. Wow! The results have been amazing, and the party-goers have enjoyed playing with the store's interesting materials. The birthday youngster has the option to make his/her won invitations at the store, to use biodegradable party supplies so nature can celebrate as well, and to have guests "fill a baggie" of unusual goodies to take home for further creativity.
Adults can party at the store, too! How about having a "girls night out" event with us? A study-break party? A wedding shower where guests help make the decorations? Let us know what you need. There's no better way to celebrate creativity and make memories at the same time.
