A Jewel of a Journal,
Saturday, January 29th, 1-3 pm
Shauna Carey, Fine Arts Coordinator for the Champaign Public Schools (and a talented teacher), will inspire you to make books and journals from interesting reusable materials in two upcoming workshops at The I.D.E.A. Store. Enrollment is limited so you can get more individualized attention, so reserving your space is advised. This Saturday, January 29th from 1-3 p.m., Shauna will show you a variety of ways to personalize a CD jewel case and fashion journal pages to fit inside. What a great place to keep you secret thoughts, or make a great gift for a music lover! Experiment with several techniques to disguise the case's original use. This is the perfect workshop for a parent/child (ages 10 and up) or friends to attend together. On Saturday, February 12th from 1-3 p.m., adults can join Shauna to learn beginning-level bookbinding skills. You'll construct a unique handmade book and leave with ideas for more unconventional styles to make on your own. Sign Up for the Workshop Here! Facebook it!
