Mother's Day Gift Certificates

Mother's Day is May 9.
If you haven't bought her a gift yet, consider our Handyman Gift Certificates.

Being a mother is a full-time job and it never ends! Show her you appreciate all the work she has done by giving her a break. Let someone else do the work and hang those family pictures or fix those leaky windows.

Our experts are here to help. Call 303 444 0033 to order, and we'll even throw in a complimentary bouquet of flowers. Certificates start at $75.

Or, how about an early Mother's Day? Bring her to the "Kitchens are Cooking" tour this weekend and treat her to a traditional Japanese tea cermony.  See 'Reminder' below for details.

MDA Lock-up

This is our last chance!!
The law caught up with us and on May 18 we're going behind bars "for GOOD"; a good cause that is!

We're serving time for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) and need YOUR HELP to bail us out of MDA Jail! Rest assured, your donation will help over 1,500 families in Colorado who are served by the MDA. You can make a difference!

We desperately each need to raise $1,500 bail ($3,000 total) before May 18 to avoid spending all day in the slammer.

It's secure, fast, tax-deductible and a great opportunity to help local programs and services funded by MDA. Thanks so much for your help! Together we CAN make a difference.

Towards a cure,

Larry and Annette

Parrish Construction Remodel
Remodel with grass? No, this is not about a new version of straw-bale construction, or using mood-altering drugs while building.  I'm talking about the ultimate in "green building"-incorporating landscape design into your plans, whether while remodeling your home or building a new one.  Good landscape design can expand living space, create a sanctuary, and lift the spirit.

According to Realtors, three things determine the value of a house-location, location, and location. Landscaping is an important aspect of any location. For a graphic illustration of this point, find an attractive home, either in your neighborhood or in a magazine photograph. Now imagine that same house sitting on asphalt in the middle of a parking lot. See what I mean?...

Parrish Construction Kitchen Remodel
If you poll homeowners across the country, you will find that the kitchen is their favorite target for a remodeling project, and Boulder is no exception.  Many people say the kitchen is the focal point of their family life, where family members congregate for homework, catching up on the events of the day, paying the bills, as well as preparing and consuming meals.  Even when entertaining, the kitchen is the place to be-where the action is.

In addition to serving multiple functions, today's kitchens often need to serve multiple cooks, with all family members taking part in "kitchen duty." Many kitchens were designed for cooking solo, and don't lend themselves to the group approach demanded by the busy families of today....

How to Prevent Spring
 Water Damage

Parrish Construction New Home Boulder, CO

The sounds of Spring - birds, lawnmowers, sump pumps. Flooded basements: a rite of Spring. With a little planning, however, you can minimize the likelihood of hauling soggy carpet out to dry.

Most flooded basements and crawlspaces are caused by surface water ponding near the foundation, soaking into the fill dirt, leaking in through the joint between floor slab and foundation wall. Backfill can settle over time to trap water. Window wells fill up, leak in around windows-or soak the ground and seep in at floor level.

If surface water is your source, the solution is to keep it well away from your foundation through proper grading of soil. If it is expansive soil, moisture can cause it to swell, possibly causing serious damage...
