Corporate Responsibility Report"Telling Amy's Story" is a powerful documentary on domestic violence that was funded in part by a grant from the Verizon Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Verizon. The documentary will air on NJN on Thursday, June 24, at 10 p.m. Fighting the silent epidemic of domestic violence is one of the core initiatives of the Verizon Foundation. In the past three years, the foundation has awarded more than $15 million to nonprofit organizations that assist domestic violence survivors.

Trenton Area Soup KitchenFounded in 1982 by volunteers from churches and service organizations, the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen or TASK is a private, non-sectarian charitable organization that provides more than 3,000 free meals a week. But the organization is much more than that. The Verizon Foundation recently gave a $7,500 grant to fund TASK's Adult Education Program, a one-on-one tutoring program for adults offering help with literacy, GED preparation, and basic computer instruction.

Verizon has been ranked among the top five companies on Working Mother magazine's list of Best Companies for Multicultural Women. It's the fifth consecutive year Verizon has earned a spot on the list, which honors companies dedicated to bringing more perspectives to the decision-making process by promoting multicultural women's advancement.
