Downtown Market Closed Tonight and Gaetz Revitalization
| |
Due to inclement weather and a severe wind warning, the Downtown Market will be closed this evening. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Gaetz Revitalization Work started this week between 46 and 47 Street, and 47 and 48 Street. Construction fencing is in place for both blocks and pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. Over the next three to four weeks, the contractors will prepare the roadway base and install catch basins, street light bases, and electrical conduits. Once this work is complete, one block may open to traffic while concrete work begins in the other. As soon as this information is available we will share it with businesses and residents on both blocks. The Ross Street Patio is open, and businesses and residents are encouraged to get outside and enjoy the space. Programs and events will happen throughout the summer, and a schedule is available at www.reddeer.ca/bestsummer. If you have questions, comments, or concerns, please contact the project team at 403-342-8750 as we work to make your downtown on Gaetz a more vibrant and walkable historic downtown.

Parking During construction, Gaetz Avenue will close to vehicle traffic and all efforts will be made to maintain pedestrian access for businesses. We recommend that businesses direct customers to park on one of the nearby streets, in one of The City's public parking lots located in the area, or in the parkade. For more information on parking downtown or about The City's parking cards, visit www.reddeer.ca/parking. Who do I contact for more information?
The weekly drop-in meetings are being cancelled as turn out has been very low. We continue to be available by phone and email, and encourage businesses and residents to ask us questions or pass along comments.
