Operation Classroom News
Operation Classroom is a mission dedicated to maintaining and supplying schools in Sierra Leone and Liberia. The West District has been assigned Fergusson Memorial Secondary School, - which has an average enrollment of 800 students. All types of school supplies are needed. Pencils, chalk, paper. Also, non-electric tools are needed, hammers, saws, rakes, shovels. Sewing supplies for a tailoring class are needed. Many of the students come from low income families so scholarships are needed. A scholarship is $100, but donations can be given in any denomination. Also needed are summer clothes in all sizes (no tank tops or shorts please). These items will be used to protect the supplies for packing, and will be distributed when unpacked. I ask that you prayfully consider supporting this worthwhile mission and join us at our Spring packing party at Cloverdale UMC on April 12 beginning at 9:00 a.m. If possible, please bring the supplies on Wednesday. If not possible, please arrive early so that we can organize the supplies for packing. I am asking that someone please take over the position of District Coordinator. I would be glad to meet with anyone interested. Also, someone with a truck is needed to take the supplies to Lapel. My truck is several years old and I am not sure if it is up to the task this year. Please call if you can help out in this area. Yours in Christ Bill Green 765-653-5430

Sermon Series Tools Available
From Aaron Wheaton
Are there any clergy interested in doing a series of seven sermons titled the Building Blocks for a Fruitful Life? Both Rick Swan and I did these during January and February of this year, and people really appreciated them. Because we preached the same series at both campuses, we have two sets of huge building blocks made of cardboard and beautifully decorated by artist Don Hadley (South Campus). These blocks provide a visual aid and actually look like building blocks. Each block has the name of the sermon on it, so each week you can add the block of the morning. Before we retire them to a storage room, we wanted to know if there would be anyone who would like to borrow them and use them for your church. Titles of the sermons for each week are as follow: Study the Bible, Pray, Attend Church, Obey God, Resist Temptation, Live In God's Power, Share Your Faith. Let me know with a phone call at 812-249-4787. |

Older Adult Sunday
May 6, 2012
CELEBRATE!!! It has been suggested that the first Sunday in May be Older Adult Sunday. As we celebrate a lifetime voyage of faith on May 6, 2012 we look toward our Older Adult's. Older Adult's are made up of three different groups: very active, slow-slow, and the home-bound. They are spirit-filled, gracious, & compassionate. They are engaged in the life of the church and have been for years and years. Many are involved in radical hospitality. We come to celebrate the lives of this group and call attention to the needs of the home bound. For info check with the General BOD or contact Ann Stant at swissinn61@hotmail.com.
