Trunk or Treat
Our annual Trunk or Treat is just around the corner and we need your help! This event will take place on Wednesday, October 31st from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. We need help in the following areas:
Concession Stand
Security
Parking Lot
Clean Up
Car & Host

The Car & Host volunteers park their cars in the parking lot, open their decorated trunks and pass out candy (you provide candy). So get creative and sign-up at the Information Center if you would like to volunteer in any of these areas.
Men's Retreat
Men, are you ready for a weekend with just the guys? Coming up in October is our Fall Men's Retreat. It will be held at Tenkiller State Park in Oklahoma from Friday, October 19th through Sunday, October 21st. You can sign up at the Information Center. The $40 registration fee will cover two nights of lodging, three meals and unlimited entertainment. You can visit our church website to learn more!

Wednesdays On Purpose
Wednesday's On Purpose 

Join us for the next round of Wednesdays On Purpose classes that will begin on September 19th. We have several classes available for you to choose from: Divine Healing 101 with Rev. Kevin and Verna Belt, Guardrails with Rev. Marty Cluck, Dream Marriage with Doug and Karen Faries, The Invisible War with Pastor Ryan Rose, and Old Time Gospel Hour facilitated by David Dewitt. ONE Community Event
 

Student ministries from all over Van Buren will come together for a night of worship on Sunday, September 23rd from 6 to 8 p.m. at the VBHS Fine Arts Center. The night will include worship led by Aaron Jackson and special guest Taylor Johnson who is a comedian/speaker from Dallas, TX. There will also be door prizes, cash drawings and the opportunity for one lucky student to win a 32" flat panel TV. All students in 6th through 12th grades are invited to attend. For more information please contact our youth office at 474-4410 ext. 333.

Men's Golf

The next outing of the Men's "Butter" Cup Golf League will be held on Saturday, October 6th at the Chamberlain Golf Course in Danville, Arkansas. Tee time is 10 a.m. The cost to participate is $60, which includes lunch. Please sign up and pre-pay at the Information Center.

 

 

Diaper Drive

Did you know diaper needs for one child will cost the average family $100 per month? This leaves working families struggling to provide their children with basic necessities. At the same time, daycare facilities require that parents provide sufficient disposable diapers to meet the needs of their children while in the facility. In order to do so, parents may have to make difficult choices between purchasing diapers, paying bills or buying groceries. With 1 out of 4 children being born into poverty, the need is already great and it's ever growing. For the month of September we will be hosting a diaper drive to do our part in meeting this need. Please bring diapers of any size, brand or quantity and/or wipes and place them in our donation bin in the Family Life Center or in the Information Center. Thank you for your help!
