Pastor's Hoedown
This week's spotlight is on the "Pastor's Hoedown".
In 2002 Pastor created one of the most loved events for Butterfield Church. The "Pastor's Hoedown" is hosted every year at Snake Creek of Lake Tenkiller. Those who participate enjoy food, singing, golf, fishing, horseshoes, camping and most of all the fellowship. What started out as a few people has exploded into about 75% of the church spending the weekend at the lake. The more people involved, the more activities were offered. Friday evening good food and singing is provided. Saturday various activities take place such as the Homemade Ice Cream Contest, Pastor's Bike Ride, Bass Tournament and more. Sunday morning we have service by the pavilion with Children's services hosted at a campsite. It's a great weekend that is jammed pack with activities that can be enjoyed by the entire family.
Due to renovations being made at the park, we will be unable to have the regular scheduled events. All Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday events have been canceled. With that being said for this year we will have "Pastor's Campout" on June 25th through June 27th. All those who wish to participate, just pull your camper or tent to Snake Creek and enjoy the fellowship. Please note: reservations cannot be made. Everything is walk-up only.
We hope to be able to offer the "Pastor's Hoedown" in 2011. |
