Amazing Sukkot pictures from India

With the "four species" in the synagogue

Shavei Israel's emissary to the Bnei Menashe, Yochanan Phaltual, has sent us some amazing pictures of the community's celebration of the Sukkot holiday this year. We'll have a full write up of the events - which included a sukka competition, an all-Manipur festival quiz (with prizes!) and, for the first time ever, the sale of the "4 Species" in a special Bnei Menashe Sukkot "market" - next week.

In the meantime, click here to enjoy a "sneak preview" of just a few of the photos we're assembling for you now.

Shavei Israel is proud to provide support to the ancient Jewish community of Kaifeng. This week, the online publication, The Times of Israel, published a concise but highly useful travel guide to Jewish Kaifeng. If you're planning a visit, this is a great resource. Among the highlights you'll read about:

Evidence of Jewish life in Kaifeng, locked behind a set of doors at a theme park.
