A multicultural meet-up in Jerusalem: Polish Jews and Bnei Menashe together
 | Bnei Menashe and young Polish Jews meet in Jerusalem |
Shavei Israel reaches out to Lost Tribes and hidden Jewish communities around the world, but rarely do these communities get a chance to meet. That's why an in-person encounter between a group of "Hidden Jews" from Poland and Bnei Menashe youngsters was so unique...and emotional.
The Polish Jews, in Jerusalem for our August seminar, visited Shavei Israel's Beit Miriam community center for the Bnei Menashe. Together, the two groups planted flowers, jumped on a trampoline and made pita bread in an outdoor oven. Asked to rate the meet up from 1-5, one participant gave it a "100."

As the High Holydays approach and Rosh Hashana begins this evening, all of us here at Shavei Israel wish you a Shana Tova - a good New Year, one filled with health, happiness and many new beginnings.
With G-d's help, this year we will see the resumption of the Bnei Menashe aliyah from India and the beginning of their new lives in Israel. More Bnei Anousim and Hidden Jews in Poland will rediscover their roots. Our emissaries to China will continue to teach Judaism and Hebrew to the Kaifeng Jews. And we will welcome new Subbotnik Jews from the deepest reaches of Russia.
As always, you'll find the latest news from Shavei Israel here in our weekly newsletter. We look forward to your continued support in the year 5773 on the Hebrew calendar.
