When she was growing up in the Spanish town of Cuidad Real, Batyah Guiot Lucendo, 40, didn't understand why her family kept two sets of cutlery or why they never mixed milk and meat. But after moving to Valencia, she met Shavei Israel's emissary. Today, she and her husband Yosef live a full Jewish life in Jerusalem.

40 of Poland's Hidden Jews to Celebrate Daf Yomi Completion in Lublin

More than 40 Hidden Jews from Poland are participating in an unprecedented seminar organized by Shavei Israel.The seminar, which began on July 30 and will continue all this week until August 2 in Lublin, Poland, is dedicated entirely to the study of Talmud.
The gathering will be held at the Chachmei Lublin Yeshiva and will coincide with the completion of the Daf Yomi daily cycle of Talmud study which was launched by the yeshiva's founder more than 80 years ago.
