Concha Roja Perez feels she is living between two worlds. On the one hand, she knows intuitively that her family has Jewish roots. But she has been unable to uncover concrete proof. Nevertheless, the 35-year-old journalist and resident of Granada, Spain, has embarked on a spiritual quest to discover her past, with the hope to one day rejoin the Jewish people.

UPDATE: Envisioning the Israeli flag: Bnei Menashe artwork takes center stage in new Shavei Israel calendar

We want to extend our appreciation to all the people who donated and received this artistic new calendar featuring Bnei Menashe artwork as a free gift.

We still have a few calendars  left - if you'd like to receive your own gift of Bnei Menashe creativity and inspiration, just click on the donate button to help our continued work with this community, both in India and Israel.

The calendar is the result of a competition that Shavei Israel held with the Bnei Menashe on Israel Independence Day 2011, and includes 12 unique interpretations of the Israeli flag. Through their art, we learn more about how the Bnei Menashe imagine their future home in Israel, and we delve deeper into their vision of aliyah, yearning and redemption.
