Rediscover Muskingum this year and see how good life really is on campus. Whether it's your reunion year or you want to revisit the beauty of the campus in the fall, Homecoming is the perfect time to reconnect.

We'll celebrate the 5, 10, 15 and 20 year reunions for the classes of 2005, 2000, 1995 and 1990. All alumni are invited to attend!

2010 marks the 50th anniversary of the undefeated 1960 football team. We will honor those team members and the 2010 inductees to the Athletic Hall of Fame.

The Fighting Muskies will take on John Carroll at McConagha Stadium following the annual Homecoming Parade. Homecoming events are family-friendly. Click here for the full schedule & to register online.

Healing Through Art

Angela Lyonsmith '99 - art therapy in Africa"Be aware of the impact you can have all around you. There are so many paths to do good."
Angela Burkhardt Lyonsmith '99

Throughout her Muskingum career Angela Lyonsmith intended to go to medical school upon graduation. Even with that career goal, she "couldn't help but double major" - in neuroscience and art with a minor in psychology. Angela would be glad to talk to any Muskies who would like to know more about art therapy or about Chicago. You can contact her through the alumni office.
Dr. Hansen Goes to Washington

Dr. Barbara HansenWhen U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan and his staff wanted information about rural education improvement initiatives, they turned to Dr. Barbara Hansen, Dave Longaberger Distinguished Professor for Teaching and Learning and Distinguished Professor of Education, and other members of the Muskingum community. Ten education leaders - five of them affiliated with Muskingum - were invited to Washington to present the Rural Transformation Model developed by the Ohio Appalachian Collaborative in partnership with Battelle for Kids.

The Ohio educators spent 45 minutes with the Secretary during their 90-minute meeting and their Washington connection will continue - they were asked to keep the Secretary informed of their progress. During a national press conference, the Secretary directly referred to the OAC, calling their work "fantastic."  Read the full story

Dr. Hansen was chair of the 28th annual world conference of the International Alliance for Invitational Education, held September 29-October 2, 2010 in Columbus, Ohio. Muskingum University was co-host for the event. Click here for conference information.
