Greetings!
Happy Tuesday! I hope you're doing great.
March is Red Cross month! And there's still many great opportunities to take advantage of, especially within Health & Safety Services. Don't miss out on our upcoming FAST training! Aspire to lifeguard this summer? We're offering lifeguard training too!
On Tuesday of last week, we officially kicked-off our Heroes campaign at St. John's Episcopal Church (Hampton) and celebrated the finale of our Disaster Kitchen Training. A wonderful group of volunteers dedicated two full days of training - learning how to safely prepare meals during times of disaster. After hours of cooking, these super volunteers served those attending the kick-off. The food was superb and we are so proud of these individuals for acquiring important sklls - to build our capacity to serve.
Please read on! You'll find a variety of great opportunities in the Classifieds. As always, please let us know how you'd like to help! Don't forget to check out the sidebar==>there's a lot of great info there as well! New Opportunities have been added!
I wish each of you a wonderful weekend. Please stay safe.
Thank you for all that you do!
Dawn Roberts, Volunteer Coordinator |

What is a Hero? Heroes are individuals or groups who pledge to raise $1,000 for our Chapter, through fundraising efforts of their choosing (safe and legal, of course). We provide 30+ great ideas to help you get started and any dollar amount raised is greatly appreciated.
This makes for a great service project for volunteers, as you can count your fundraising hours towards service. Our Heroes is a campaign suitable for people of all ages! All Heroes are recognized for their efforts. Call Jennifer for a Heroes packet, today! |

Communications Volunteers Needed
Communications is vital to the American Red Cross, especially during times of disaster. Our Communications team facilitates the application of needed service to the right client, at the right time.
Without a solid communications team, we could fall short in meeting the needs of our clients or unnecessarily duplicate efforts.
Communications volunteers are needed! An understanding of basic communications technologies (phone/radio/computer) is helpful but not required. (Amateur radio license also helpful but not required.)
Are you willing to seek and apply solutions, when help is needed? If so, you might be a great match for our Communications team! For more information, please contact Chris Hosman, Communications Chair at chrishosman@gmail.com. | |
