Greetings!
Good Morning and Happy New Year!
My sincere wishes are that each of you are doing well on this beautiful Thursday.
You'll find a variety of volunteer opportunities highlighted within this issue of the Classifieds.
I hope that you're inspired to continue with your volunteer service in 2010! Perhaps you're ready to try something new? Maybe this is the year that you'd like to expand your membership and donate blood for the first time, take a CPR or First Aid course or maybe gather a group of family or friends to raise funds to support our chapter. There are so many ways that you can help and we truly NEED you.
Last week, I posted information about the "Give a Day. Get a Disney Day." program, offered by Disney and the Points of Light Foundation. The program officially launched on January 1st, providing Americans the opportunity to register at www.disneyparks.com, sign up their families for a day of service and in return, receive a free ticket to Disney World or Disneyland. Unfortunately, at this time, our participation in the program is limited, as we work through some technical glitches. As of today, we do not have any opportunities posted. We do hope to post opportunities for volunteers (14 years of age and older) in the near future. If you have any questions about this program, please visit the Disney website. I will keep you posted as our opportunities are added to the site.
Have a wonderful week. Stay safe. Stay warm. Thank you for your ongoing support. I look forward to working with you in 2010.
Thank you for all that you do!
