Article2University plus High School? Awesome!
Are you headed back to high school this fall? Consider getting your University of Regina career started while still in Grade 11 or 12!

Check out our Accelerated Program for students currently attending high school in Saskatchewan. It enables you to take full, university-level credit courses while still in high school! It's a great way to stretch your skills and earn university credit before you graduate Grade 12.

Classes in psychology, theatre and geography are hosted at high schools across southern Saskatchewan! Some students also take their classes directly at the U of R or through distance learning. One of the best perks of being an Accelerated Program student is that you'll save the $100 admissions application fee!

Learn more about the program at uregina.ca/futurestudents.

University Lingo 101Article3
In this issue, let's talk about the levels of study available at a university! Each month, we introduce you to three new university terms to help you feel like a Professor of Academic Lingo.

Degree: A degree is an important accomplishment in education, showing a strong knowledge in a specific discipline. It typically takes four years of hard work to reach this level. Many professional jobs require a minimum of a bachelor's degree.

Diploma: A level of education showing an intermediate level of study in an area. For some students, this is an important mid-way step towards a degree. A diploma typically takes two years to complete.

Certificate: Certificate programs offer short programs of study, often one year or less in length, providing starting knowledge of a specific area. They often help supplement a bachelor's degree.

At the University of Regina, students can choose to pursue a degree, diploma, or certificate with over 120 programs to choose from!

We're about a month away from hitting the road to schools and communities all over Canada. There's a good chance we'll be somewhere near you. Enjoy your summer and keep checking our website for the latest news!
