Greetings!

Hey, it's summer! Sunshine, beaches, great weather and much more. The Academic Green is doubling as a field for some impromptu soccer and Ultimate Frisbee. It's an awesome time around the University of Regina.

In this issue, we'll talk about the Faculty of Engineering & Applied Science, and of course University Lingo 101. We'll also take this opportunity to let you know what steps we are taking if there is a disruption to mail service due to a Canada Post employee strike.

Come visit us this summer! Realize. Your future starts here.

University Lingo "Summer Edition"Article3
University life is filled with changes, including a whole new language! Each month, we introduce you to three new university terms to help you feel like a Professor of Academic Lingo. To celebrate summer, here's a fun take on "University Lingo 101:"

Academic Green: The perfect place for throwing around the football, catching some sun, or studying in the shade of some beautiful trees. Our lush Academic Green is at the heart of our campus. If you haven't seen it, head over to Google Maps to check it out yourself!

Bicycle: It's the perfect, green, healthy way to get to campus during a summer day. The U of R has indoor and outdoor bike storage for students and you don't have to worry about parking! Regina is a bike-friendly city.

Wascana Centre: Have you checked out that Google Map yet? We're located on one of the largest urban parks in North America!
Walking paths, golf courses and even more green spaces are mere metres away from campus.
A note on service during mail disruption SPECIAL
We are always endeavouring to serve you, our students, in an effective and timely manner. In the event of a mail service disruption, we would like to share this message with you:

"In the event of a Canada Post strike, the Admissions, Student Recruitment and Student Awards and Financial Aid offices will be contacting student primarily via email. If students have not provided us with an email address we will contact them by phone.

Please do not mail anything to our offices during this time of uncertainty. Send documents by fax to 306-337-2525 or by email to admissions@uregina.ca. For transcripts and official documents, please also send a copy in the mail for our records."
We're working hard to serve you and look forward to answering any questions you may have. On behalf of the U of R and our Federated Colleges, have a great summer until our next issue!
